Professional development courses
Our trainees attend a full range of professional development courses through the HAT Group of Accountants.
These courses go beyond exam prep, helping you apply your knowledge in real-world situations. They cover both technical and non-technical areas and offer the opportunity to interact with accountants from other firms.

On-the-job training
Hands-on experience is essential to the ACA qualification, and at F.W. Smith Riches & Co., you will work on a broad range of clients and areas from day one.
You’ll be involved in everything from audits and statutory accounts preparation to corporation tax returns and ad-hoc project work.
As your skills develop, you’ll take on increasing responsibilities, culminating in leading audit teams for some of our largest clients.
With exposure to all our partners and managers, you’ll gain diverse insights and expertise, enriching your experience and accelerating your growth.
Ongoing professional updates and in-house training
To keep your skills and knowledge up to date, we hold quarterly professional updates and arrange in-house training where necessary. teambuilding day.
This is supplemented by regular team discussions and an annual office training and teambuilding day.
